Nepal has suffered the worst quake to hit in nearly a century on April 25th, 2015. The aftershocks continue to wreak havoc in this Himalayan nation.
The earthquake killed more than 9,000 people and injured more than 23,000. Hundreds of thousands of lives have been shattered. Entire villages were reduced to rubble. Survivors have little refuge.
The earthquake triggered an avalanche on Mount Everest, killing 19, making it the deadliest day on the mountain in history.
So many of us have such wonderful memories of Nepal. The people are so sweet and gentle, the scenery astonishingly beautiful.
I wanted to share my photos with you, taken just a few weeks before the earthquake, to give you a glimpse into this part of the world.
The Nepalese people now face a long struggle to rebuild their lives. Please join me in sending prayers and positive thoughts.
